If you already thought yoga a tad decadent––an hour or so to only stretch, breathe, and be––add chocolate for a true dip into full-body delight. California-based yoga teacher David Romanelli and Katrina Markoff, founder of high-end Vosges chocolate, have brought this inspired synergy to you in the form of Yoga and Chocolate workshops around the country.
It starts with a taste of Vosges’s Naga bar––a blend of sweet Indian curry powder, coconut, and milk chocolate. Romanelli will use that sublime moment to bring you fully present and guide you through two hours of flowing vinyasa. After your last pose, you’ll be asked to try Vosges’s Red Fire bar––a mix of chili peppers, Ceylon cinnamon, and dark chocolate. The idea, says Romanelli on his website, is to realize “that a scattered mind diminishes your sense of taste, hearing and smell” and “being present adds amazing flavor to every moment.” It also probably helps move a fair amount of Vosges’s pricey ($6 a bar), but admittedly excellent product.
