Schools Go to the Mat For Yoga

In a traditional school gym of basketball hoops, 3-point lines and climbing ropes, Colfax Elementary students are practicing downward-facing dog, breathing techniques and cobra poses. Yoga has become a weekly ritual in this school off West Colfax Avenue, where students on Mondays and Tuesdays grab yoga mats and learn to balance, stretch and relax.

Our two youngest children attend the www.propelschools.org here in Pittsburgh. At the East facility they offer many special enrichment programs for the children to be introduced to the arts.
Yoga and dance where one of the 6 week programs that was brought in to the school to enrich our young minds. I am hopeful they will bring more of Yoga into their day to day routines.
