Hello, I'm lily and I'm a huge music dork and a random knowledge junkie. I appreciate nature, and simplicity; I could spend an entire day walking downtown with no destination or in the outskirts of town photographing the beautiful scenery. The study of morality and ethics fascinates me, as well as the interstate highway system. I am a book collector, and nothing else entertains me more than going treasure hunting at antique shops and collecting intriguing gadgets. I spend my free time reading and researching about nutrition and I attempt to come up with new healthy and yet creative recipes, additionally I like to test and modify other recipes. The study of diverse cultures intrigues me in enterity as well as world religions and beliefs, but perhaps not as much as photography, one of my main hobbies. I enjoy watching marvelous photography and I attempt to take decent pictures as well. |

![]() | Hello I just thought I would write to all my lime friends today. I will be uploading a picture of myself soon. I have been so busy lately with work, school and with taking care of my left arm and shoulder. I am asking that you will in your time of reflection place in you thoughts of heal path of your spiritual energy. I fell about 12.5 feet while working on my home and hurt my shoulder and arm. I had my first MRI the other day. “Did not like it!” It was an open MRI but the noise, even with headphones was horrible. The Physicians think I have a torn muscle. I have been working with my Chiropractor and have improved. I talk to Dr. Bob Marshall in Round Rock, Texas and he put me on some healing supplements’. If you don’t know about Dr. Bob he is great. His site is www.healthline.cc Other than that life is as life is or what you make it. My family thinks I become a real whack job on this whole health and green living thing. I go ask if I was becoming a Hippie. “The Yoga, vegan recycle stuff is little out there don’t you think?” That was my older brother. My kids have joined me in it. The other day my youngest grandson said he was going to do “Yogurt” like “D”. I had my family over and extended family as well for a cook out. I made some veggie burgers along with organic beef and turkey. My brother kills off about 3 veggie burgers before he knew what they were. I am also starting a new relationship after being alone for 18 years. It different but its’ coming along. This is also a new experience for me. I was introduced to Tantra in Yoga and it is very different. Well look for my picture soon and I will also be posting pictures of my walks. May you have inter-peace. ![]() | Fake meat Well, good news if you order stuff online...I found some sites that carry the fake meats that I speak of :) One is http://vegecyber.com/, look under 'frozen gourmet'. Also, http://www.vegieworld.com, http://www.vegeeats.com. All 3 of these places carry the same type of fake meat products...they are asian, but have english on them as well. They all seem to carry the fake fish too, so I'd give it a try! It's not too expensive either (don't know about shipping though). Oh, and I love recipes...so, I'd love for you to send me your fish one to try :) Thanks! Posted by prepare_to_veg on 04.26.2007 - 4:58pm EDT Leave a comment for prepare_to_veg |

![]() | organic i'm glad you liked G-Living! i can't get enough of that site. too much good information. and yeh, i do understand why so many people get miffed with PETA. some of the stuff they do is really bizarre. i guess they believe that even bad publicity is still publicity, so they think it's good. so what's your opinion on organic foods? i keep reading that organic things still can have pesticides because of neighboring fields spraying their crops with them. and i've read that people have been healed of things like cancer by eating a raw food diet using conventional produce. sometimes i wonder if organic is worth paying extra for if it still can have pesticides on it. i guess less pesticides is better than more though. i'd love to have your opinion on it. :) Posted by Luckie on 04.17.2007 - 4:26pm EDT Leave a comment for Luckie |
![]() | reply to your comment hey! thanks for taking interest in my opinion. i read the article you linked me to. i'm pretty familiar with PETA. back when mad cow disease was big on the news, i found lots of information on PETA's website about vegetarianism and veganism. i don't always agree with PETA, but they have so many different people working under their name, so they have a crazy mix of everything going on there. they're pretty hit and miss. as far as the article goes, i guess i'd say i agree with them on that one, even though they're harsh about it. from what i've read over the years, two of the biggest causes of global warming are factory farms and fossil fuels. i'm not against eating meat. there's a lot of moral issues there, but i'm conflicted, so i keep to the scientific stuff i've read mostly. supposedly there's different levels of diets that go from bad for the environment to safe for the environment. the worst seems to be the Standard American Diet, then going down from there, something like the South Beach Diet, then the Asian/Mediterranian diets, then Vegetarian, then Vegan, then Raw Foodist, then i guess Fruititarian, in that order. basicly the theory is the less of a "footprint" you leave, the healthier it is for the environment. anyway, i like the Vegan and Raw Food diets because i'm worried about our government's meat inspections. it seems they're pretty awful. and dairy products are full of chemicals and stuff too. i guess i'd say if someone wants to eat meat, just to buy from local, organic farmers. i also think it's great if an environmentalist is vegan/vegetarian, but i'm sure there's plenty of good things they're doing out there anyway. if they want to eat a little meat now and then, i'm sure they're buying organic and local. it's all pretty iffy stuff. i get a lot of great information at this site though: http://gliving.tv/ my name's Rose, by the way. thanks for the comment. i hope this reply wasn't too long winded! =) Posted by Luckie on 04.07.2007 - 7:41pm EDT Leave a comment for Luckie |
