I was born and raised in Milborne Port, Somerset, England on a 400 acres Dairy Farm which included 40 acres of working forest. The farm diversified in 1968 to include arable cropping as well as pasture and was operated and managed by his family until 1990. I inherited my late mother's passion for gardening and learned my father's abilities as a farmer, forester and conservationist. On coming to the USA in 1990, I moved into the general landscape field and worked in the golf course industry. A change of heart prompted me to leave the resource-intensive greens industry in favor of more sustainable landscaping methods. I ran my own landscape installation and design company “Greenscapes” between 1991 and 2006 prior to selling the business and moving into sales. In 2008 I am working with ZipHarvest as a contributing "Horticulturist" writer on their website launching October 2008 www.zipharvest.com and also with Natural Assumption where my passion extends with the intention of guiding gardeners and land owners towards a more sustainable lifestyle and a non chemical dependent environment.
