I am a native New Yorker who currently lives in Los Angeles. I was a professional actress for the first part of my life. That's how, or rather why, I made the big move from Brooklyn to the West Coast. Now I fly back and forth regularly working with clients. Life takes us in directions we could not imagine, doesn't it? I have been a professional organizer for 19 years and 5 months...but who's counting? May marks the publication of my fourth book on getting organized: "The Idiot's Guide to Decluttering." Alpha Books is the publisher. This book was unique for me because it is designed for the person who is ready to jump into organizing and wants the 'how to' rather than any consideration of the 'why.' During the creation process, my wonderful editor and I called it 'the down and dirty' organizng guide. It still makes me smile. It's packed with how to information and I'm really proud of it. I hope it is of service to lots of Limers! Currently I am nose to the grindstone completing my next book "One Year to an Organized Life" which debuts in January, 2008. Avalon is the publisher. This book is all about understanding how you created the mess you see and setting clear cut goals for the future. A future that will be supported by a calm, peace filled environment. On a personal note, I love to travel. Last Fall I went to China...a long held dream come true. And this Fall I hope to get to Thailand or Bhutan. I love animals. My Golden Retriever Miss Katie passed away April 19, 2006 after being with me for 13 1/2 years. My plan was to wait a year and adopt a Great Dane. Seven weeks after her death, I was doing volunteer work with Golden Retriever Rescue in memory of Katie when an old male golden who had been starving to death on the streets came to the adoption fair. We fell in love at first touch. In his eyes I saw the Spirit of God comforting me...so I called him Spirit. He brought laughter back to my life and I am grateful forever to him. He says 'hi' to everyone. I think the greatest accomplishment of my life was facing cancer treatments. I am delighted to be celebrating my fifth anniversary as a survivor this July 26th! Cancer made me a better person and while I never want to face it again, I'd have to say I'm grateful for the journey. A survivor I never got to meet gave me some advice over the phone just days after the diagnosis that helped me cope. She said: "Right now you think cancer is doing things to you. One day you will find it is doing things for you and through you." Amen. Please feel free to e-mail me your organizing questions from my website. I answer every one personally. And if I think it's pertinent, I'll turn the answer into one of my one minute radio tips to try and help even more people. Regina |
