Pure and Simple: Lavender Ice Cream

From Episode 5: "Herbs & Spices"

  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1 bunch of fresh lavender
  • 2 pieces of cheese cloth

To make the lavender ice cream, remove the ice cream from the carton, and layer the lavender on all sides of the ice cream. Then place the block of ice cream on two sheets of cheese cloth and wrap it tightly. Place the cheese-cloth wrapped ice cream in a zip-lock bag and put in the freezer. The ice can sit in the freezer anywhere from a day to a week. The longer it's in the freezer the more flavor the ice cream will absorb.

Serve the ice cream with fruit of your choice and garnish with mint.
