A leaked email from Lindsay Lohan suggests that environmental superhero Al Gore may take on a new cause: defending the starlet's reputation. "Al Gore will help me. He... said he would be very happy to have a conversation with me," she wrote. Sources report that Gore will most likely continue to focus the bulk of his energy on saving the planet from global warming, on the grounds that it's a more realistic goal than improving Lohan's image.
Natalie Maines, the most famous member of The Dixie Chicks, gave away her Toyota Prius to a lucky fan at a concert in Los Angeles. While it's been reported by the anti-Dixie Chicks community that Maines actually drives a "gas guzzling Range Rover," environmentalists failed to get annoyed by the alleged hypocrisy because they were too amused by the existence of a specifically anti-Dixie Chicks community.
Liz Hurley, the Austin Powers star who months ago gave up acting to become an organic farmer, has apparently been distracted from her mission. Early this month Hurley unveiled a line of revealing bikinis for children that she designed. There's no word on how the side project began, but analysts say Dr. Evil was most likely involved.
There are nasty rumors afoot about everybody's favorite eco-celebrity, Leonardo DiCaprio. John Leguizamo has written a memoir in which he claims that while on the set of Romeo & Juliet in Mexico, he and his costar engaged in lewd social ills. DiCaprio has yet to comment on the insinuation that he may not be as balanced and good natured as he's sometimes portrayed; he may be too preoccupied exposing the diamond industry, planting trees, and driving a hybrid.
Richard Branson, who invested more than three billion dollars in environmental causes earlier in the year, gave a wonderful interview about airline emissions and ethanol to Grist.org's Amanda Little. Branson said, "We desperately need leaders," in the fight against climate change and planetary degradation. "The rebel billionaire" did not specify whether those leaders should star in obnoxious reality television shows about how much money they have.
