Trouble in Brooklyn! This week about 4,000 people showed up in Prospect Park to protest unsound real estate development in a peaceful neighborhood. The project, planned by Forest City Ratner, includes the construction of a stadium for the (formerly) New Jersey Nets. Protestors included locals like Rosie Perez, Steve Buscemi, and musician Dan Zanes. Michelle Williams, who lives nearby the site, previously spoke out against the development, saying "it will increase traffic, pollution, and asthma." Many have suggested that the unsettling development be pushed out to Coney Island, which may sound attractive to Ratner and company. After all, protests from working class, non-famous people tend to get much less media attention.
