USDA Backs Production of Rice With Human Genes
March 1, 2007 - 8:38pm
from The Washington Post
The Agriculture Department has given a preliminary green light for the first commercial production of a food crop engineered to contain human genes, reigniting fears that biomedically potent substances in GMO plants could escape and turn up in other foods.

No labeling

http://www.saynotogmos.org/.  If you are really interested in GMO's, I found this site very helpful in answering many questions I had.  Not being familiar with GMO's, I just learned that there is not a label that lets us know if the food we are eating contains GMO's.  The whole industry is a bit frightening.  It all sounds a bit too weird for me, like a sci-fi movie.

I agree with you that the industry sounds 'frightening', (and that is ONLY the food industry), but in the end there is very little that we can do. Even labels that state 'Yeast extracts' - that is the NEW name for Monosodium Glutamate, E621, which is a flavour enhancer is in disguise.

There is this saying, "Knowledge protects, Ignorance endangers". That is what I am living by....the AWARENESS....hope you don't mind me saying so.
