Skin Stimulation

Skin StimulationPosted by Marisa Belger on April 26, 2006 - 6:28am.

It's easy to forget that the skin is an organ - the body's largest eliminative organ, in fact. When operating at its peak, the skin should excrete up to one-third of the body's toxins - that's a lot of gunk. While we are fairly obsessed with keeping our skin hairless and silky soft, we give don't give nearly enough attention to how well it functions.

Rebounding for Health

The biggest conversation piece in my tiny New York studio apartment has nothing to do with kitsch or art or my lovely touch with the decorating. It’s my trampoline. It may be black, large, and ugly, hogging a huge percentage of pricey Manhattan real estate, but people immediately start bouncing. And smiling.

It’s no surprise then that mini-tramping (as I call it) or rebounding (as the professionals call it) is on the rise. In addition to being fun, it’s also great exercise. It does all the heart-raising, sweat-inducing things that regular working out does, but it also is said to pump your lymphatic system, making it a favorite among the holistic-minded looking to flush extra toxins.
