Meet the JivaDivaPosted by Jennifer Merritt on August 14, 2006 - 6:02am.

Most of us are aware of the paradoxically hard work it takes to find time to achieve balance in life. Some days it's as simple as finding the willpower to choose the organic salad over the burger and fries, other days it's feeling the pressure to find time in your busy day to meditate. The Green Room: Gwyneth's Yoga Lesson

Posted by Joshua W. Jackson on May 19, 2006 - 2:43pm.

Gwyneth Paltrow is scheduled to teach what is probably the most expensive yoga lesson ever taught. In an auction for Prince Charles’ charity, a fan paid $50,000.00 (no, we didn’t add three extra zeros…) for a private session with Gwyneth. "Someone has spent a great deal of money on it so I’m going to have to really come up with an excellent plan. Unfortunately, I can’t do it in the nude or anything to make it really exceptional…" Paltrow said. She went on to assure the bidder that she would do everything within her power to not make the lesson any more awkward than she just did.

Yoga Gets Down

Yoga Gets DownPosted by vreiss on December 5, 2005 - 10:20am.

This Sunday’s New York Times featured “Yoga Assumes a Social Position,” an article about yoga studios that host parties before, after, and sometimes nowhere near, class time.

The story described a gathering at a Yoga Works with wine and chocolate, Om Yoga’s Vinyasa and Vino party, plus scads of less alcoholic events at places like old-school Jivamukti and brand-new Centerpoint.
