Fixing up some eggs or chicken strips for the dog might have seemed crazy a while ago. But not in the wake of a pet food recall.

The ASPCA turns 140 years old today. Landmark buildings all over the country will be lit up in orange, the ASPCA's official color, to honor America's oldest animal welfare organization.

Here in the ASPCA's hometown, where socialite Henry Bergh founded the animal rights non-profit group in 1866 after witnessing the severe beating of a New York City workhorse, we'll be commemorating this milestone with, among other things, the unveiling of the world's largest dog biscuit in Manhattan's Union Square.
