Al Gore - TED TalksPosted by LIME Team on May 1, 2007 - 4:58pm.

This is the second talk Al Gore gave at the Ted conference in 2006. He shares some funny anecdotes and then breaks down what each of us can do to address the climate crisis.

An Inconvenient Backlash

Posted by Su Avasthi on March 13, 2007 - 5:42pm.

Most of us got Al Gore's message about global warming messages, after watching An Inconvenient Truth. But now some climatologists have started to question whether that message might have been more alarmist than accurate.

And The Oscar Goes .... Green

Posted by Su Avasthi on February 26, 2007 - 1:40am.

This year, the stars lauded and applauded Al Gore, the environment, and all things green at the Academy Awards. In fact, looks like Hollywood has decided that green is the new gold.

Al Gore's Next Big Idea

Posted by Su Avasthi on February 15, 2007 - 9:00pm.

Al Gore and his movie have already made the average American aware about the climate change crisis. Now he's about to send the same message to the entire world, via a huge, global concert event called Live Earth.

Does Al Gore Deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?

Posted by Su Avasthi on February 4, 2007 - 5:18pm.

Al Gore got nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize last week. His work on global warming may not fit all the criteria, but he deserves a lot of credit for changing how America (and the world) thinks of climate change.

The Polar Bears Protest

Polar bears – at least New York's Polar Bear Club comprised of cold-water swimmers – might be facing extinction due to the lack of, well, cold water.

Meet Laurie David

Meet Laurie DavidPosted by Joshua W. Jackson on October 26, 2006 - 7:09am.

Like most 21st Century women, Laurie David tends to keep a pretty full schedule—she's a mother, she's a wife (to Curb Your Enthusiasm's Larry David), she has a demanding career. And she's saving the world.

Well, that last one is only partially true. She'll be the first to tell you that saving the world is a job for all of us, and it can't be done by a single person. Nonetheless, it seems that she picks up more than her fair share.

The Green Room: Sexy Vegetarians

Posted by Joshua W. Jackson on May 25, 2006 - 4:12pm.

Goveg.com, an offshoot organization of PETA, has announced the results of its "World’s Sexiest Vegetarian" poll. "Celebrities cite many reasons for [vegetarianism], from avoiding the cruelty that is inherent in all meat production to improving their health and energy levels and helping the environment," Go Veg said, and declared Prince (the artist formerly known as "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince") the sexiest male vegetarian and Kristen Bell the sexiest female vegetarian. Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, and Joaquin Phoenix were among the runners up. No word on whether any of them were upset enough by the results to jump camp and compete for the title of "World’s Sexiest Bratwurst-Lover."

The Green Room: Gwyneth's Yoga Lesson

Posted by Joshua W. Jackson on May 19, 2006 - 4:43pm.

Gwyneth Paltrow is scheduled to teach what is probably the most expensive yoga lesson ever taught. In an auction for Prince Charles’ charity, a fan paid $50,000.00 (no, we didn’t add three extra zeros…) for a private session with Gwyneth. "Someone has spent a great deal of money on it so I’m going to have to really come up with an excellent plan. Unfortunately, I can’t do it in the nude or anything to make it really exceptional…" Paltrow said. She went on to assure the bidder that she would do everything within her power to not make the lesson any more awkward than she just did.
