Travelers Devote Vacations to Volunteering
from the Los Angeles Times
More tourists—college students on spring break, jet-setting luxury travelers, and retiring baby boomers—are using their vacations to volunteer. Helping to catalyze the trend, United Way has unveiled a website to link travelers with charitable work.

My sitter has spent the last few months down in New Orleans volunteering. She was only supposed to go for a month, but returned after the holidays because she really enjoyed it and said she just "had" to go back. I think this a great trend. I'm glad people feel the need to give back and realize how good they have things. Wonderful and uplifting article.
