New York, N.Y. - January 29, 2007 - LIME, the multi-media lifestyle brand dedicated to a healthier, greener, more balanced lifestyle, today launched the first-ever broadband channel devoted to the brand's core ideology - Healthy Living With A Twist. The new broadband channel, found on www.lime.com/tv, aims to give consumers more control and convenience through on-demand access online. The announcement was made by C.J. Kettler, Founder and CEO, LIME.
Responding to industry trends, particularly within the cable industry, as focus shifts to on-demand offerings, LIME will shift its focus to all-digital on-demand platforms and will phase out traditional linear cable.
"The launch of our dedicated broadband channel enables us to expand our reach to the fast growing tech-savvy community who are looking for ways to improve their lives and find both professionally produced and community inspired content on living a healthier, greener and more balanced life on their own terms," said Kettler. LIME's broadband channel is driven by its talent-based original programming, with more than 80 percent of its program offerings to feature content originally produced for LIME. Beginning today, LIME's broadband channel will feature more than 100 original programs in both short and long form.
The new broadband channel joins other lime.com community based features recently launched, including LIME Local (www.lime.com/local), a resource for healthy/green goods and services in your neighborhood and LIME Shop (www.lime.com/shop), a commerce area for green gifts and household products.
ADVERTISERS AND AGREEMENTS
Initial reaction for LIME's ad supported broadband channel has been strong. Major brands across multiple categories, such as automotive, health and beauty, national and regional retailers, as well as the growing natural food category, are on board. Advertisers include: Toyota, Silk and Garnier.
As part of the overall launch strategy to broaden the Company's reach in online syndication, LIME has inked online video deals with Yahoo! Health as well as the newly announced Joost (formerly known as The Venice Project). On Joost, LIME programs will be featured as its own standalone "channel" to be launched in first quarter 2007. These deals join LIME's existing strategic online video syndication initiatives with Google and AOL.
