Hollywood’s green poster boy, Leonardo DiCaprio, is turning documentarian. The actor, an outspoken advocate for action on climate change, is making a documentary about global warming, titled “Eleventh Hour.”
DiCaprio, who drives a Toyota Prius hybrid, gave an absentee statement at the Montreal climate conference, saying, “Global warming is not only the number one environmental challenge we face today, but one of the most important issues facing all of humanity.”
He will co-write “Eleventh Hour” (with Leila Conners Petersen and Nadia Conners, of Tree Media Group), as well as narrate and produce the film, which will look at solutions to the problems of climate change. Production company Tree Media’s mission is to use film as a tool for global change. DiCaprio’s doc is scheduled to be released next fall.
