Well, that's certainly convenient. The Competitive Enterprise Institute is releasing a couple of commercials today that - surprise - scoff at global warming. The ads will run in 18 cities around the country beginning tomorrow and will seek, in the words of the CEI's press release, to "counter the flood of scare stories on global warming." ("Flood," eh? Interesting word choice . . .)
Why release them today? To get the jump on next week's release of Al Gore's wake-up-and-smell-the-emissions documentary An Inconvenient Truth, of course. So is this a sign that some right-wing conspiring is afoot?
Of course not. The CEI is just an honest think tank with no ties to big oil -- they just want to get the truth out about climate change. Just like the Wall Street Journal editorial board. And Fox News.
In other news, the earth is flat, gravity is just a theory, and a noodly appendage loves you.
