great article. being from the islands, it's always great to find out that there are people who are trying to preserve its natural state rather than destroying it in the name of development or whatever cause they lay claim to.

Or isn't there one?  I'm always happy to slap the Prez down when he does something stupid... I'm not against giving some praise when he does the right thing.  It might encourage some better policy.

Thank Goodness

After being on an amazing whale watching experience of being surround by humpbacks, dolphins and sea lions all at the same time, (deep breath...) I was really moved at how beautiful our ocean's and their habitants are first hand. It was so moving I can see why Bush jumped at his opportunity to help. I am so happy to hear about this protection. Now if Bush would treat our forests, widlife, lakes, rivers and air with the same love! In the meantime, I'm doing my best to help... Educating myself on elections and getting out to vote for one. Retired my gas guzzler and financed a Prius, which even has better horsepower:) Have a reusable bag when grocery shopping for my smaller trips and always recycle the bags I do bring home. Recycle everything, even my former gas guzzler:) Keep the lights and water off as much as possible. Outside lights at home switched to Solar (the good ones rock because it feels like bright moonlight)... etc. & etc. And simply read smart and keep my awareness up to speed. No matter how little any of it seems, it all makes a difference. And that's what feels really good. Long live the planet's healing!!! Michael~

What's in it for him?

I would like to think this action was sincere and from the heart. However, since the publicity of this action coincides with the release of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" it seems more like a stratgic tactic to take away from a work of those that really do care and are not just grabbing at any straws to save a dwindling approval rating.
