“Global warming isn't cool. Stopping it is.” That's the motto of a new star-studded ad campaign from ClimateStar.org [1], founded by Union of Concerned Scientists [2], designed to raise awareness on global warming [2]. Here's Mischa Barton [3] beckoning an audience in a white angelic dress, windswept hair and the tagline “Let's Clear The Air.” There's Kevin Bacon [4] in a tough-guy stance beneath the declaration: “Six degrees can make a world of difference. Not Separation – temperature.”

Also featured among the eight celebs in the campaign is Orlando Bloom's [5] mug shot with earnest, furrowed brow, come-hither gaze, and slicked tendrils, with the simple epithet: “Not Cool.” Each PSA showcases eye-popping factoids: “The number of deaths from global warming are expected to double over the next 15 years… By cutting and burning forests, we’re generating 20% of the heat-trapping gases that cause global warming… More than 6 million kids in the US have asthma and global warming is only going to make it worse.” And, not to be missed, this one from TV actress Jorja Fox: “No, it’s not a new reality show.”
