Seventh Generation Launches Blog

Another day, another blog. As if you had time to read one more thing online (especially when you don't want to turn your eyes away from us here at LIME). But here's a just-launched blog that seems promising: The Inspired Protagonist [1], the brainchild of non-toxic household products company Seventh Generation [2], makers of recycled paper towels, Earth-friendly cleaners, chlorine-free tampons, and more.

It's not quite clear how the new blog's content will differ from the company's email newsletter, Non-Toxic Times [3], which provides information on new products, household toxins, other companies' enviro initiatives, and suggested reading. But company president Jeffrey Hollender, who introduced [4] the blog today, said he hopes it will become an "ongoing conversation" and a "forum for dialogue" among a "community of visionaries united not by geography but by ideas."

According to Seventh Generation, the average household contains between three and 25 gallons of toxic substances, largely in cleaning products. In addition to its line of household products, the company offers recommendations [5] on simple non-toxic cleaners you can make at home, such as a baking soda-based oven cleaner and a furniture polish of blended vegetable oil and lemon juice.
