Games to Green the World (a Little)

New games and contests are challenging you to have fun while making the world a better place. Take a work break for some eco-tainment:

>> The Legend of Peapod [1]. In this game, you’re an eco-warrior of sorts, trying to take down a junk mail company, a disposable cutlery maker, and an SUV factory. Get as high a score as you can and submit it to the high score board — and a tree will get planted for every 50 million points that get submitted! Unfortunately, if you’re like me, your contribution will be small: My highest score didn’t quite reach 50 thousand points.

>> Egg a Politician [2]. Throw chocolate eggs at five leaders — Barack Obama, Nicolas Sarkozy, Gordon Brown, Manmohan Singh or Wen Jiabao — attending the G20 summit. Why? Lots of chocolate’s still produced in places where illegal child labor’s rampant. Aim your eggs well — then send an email to the politicians asking them to keep fair trade [2] on the G20 agenda.

>> EPA Earth Day Photo project [3]. Help the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency help us! Just take some gorgeous pictures about people and the environment, the beauty of nature, and wildlife and add them to the photo project flickr groups. Your photos will hopefully inspire others into eco-activism!

Got your own favorite eco-game or contest? Share the info in the comments so we can all play.
