Lately everyone's been feeling the economy's squeeze on their pocketbooks. What's your penny-pinching strategy?

I'm guilty of opting for less pricey conventional foods instead of organic. I mean, it all tastes the same... Right?

Buying produce is so 20th century. And expensive. With my own garden, I pick my veggies from the ground, not a bin.

I said good-bye to my daily $5 latte and helloooo to home made coffee.

I think first more before I go out to do my errands - makings a circle trip instead of back-n-forth, etc.  Also am concentrating more on my grocery list and 'urging' my other half to do the same - trying to reduce # of trips to the store.  Another way - is paying more attention to my stops & starts, to try to increase gasoline mileage, which also helps to improve wear & tear on my car.

Move closer to workplace and local everything!

My husband took a different postition with the same company and we moved much closer to his work instead of an hour commute with lot of gas, we live 8 miles from his work and our locl commuity has options for almost everything we need! Of course we still own a house where we used to live that will hopefully sell soon, we really though it was a better option to live in an apartment closer than waste all that fuel, PLUS there is a co-op here and lots of stuff a way better community for eco-friendly choices! I think everyone should move closer to their work places and really think this will be the trend in coming years!
