With two sons and Christmas coming up fast and furious, I have begun to think about the dreaded amount of boxes, paper and ribbons strewn all over the living room floor on Christmas morning.  "Santa" has pared down the amount of wrapping he does, but there is still a ton of wrapping paper that basically just gets wasted.  It's on the box for all of 5 minutes before it gets ripped through in a crazed search for the toy that my son "really wanted!" 

So does anyone have any clever suggestions for wrapping presents?  I reuse gift bags, but for some reason, a gift placed sweetly in a blue gift bag doesn't have the same value to a 5 year old as a big box wrapped in SpongeBob paper. 

Does anyone do anything different and more earth friendly than regular wrapping paper?
