Was anyone besides I baffled as to why Lime devoted a good 20-30 minutes to a bigwig from BASKIN ROBBINS so he could hawk the new Baskin Robbins/Oreo marriage of fat, held in the cathedral of food as big business? I listen to Lime to get away from this kind of ridiculous PR. Tried to call in, but but (big surprise) they ran out of time. The calls were devoted to listeners calling in to guess the world record for ice cream scoops scooped in one minute. The winner got Baskin Robbins gift certificates.
Wouldn't a socially conscious ice cream company like Ben and Jerry's be the more logical choice for the show? Did anyone on the staff do any research? If they had, they'd have known that the heir apparent to Baskin Robbins, John Robbins, walked away from the great American food machine and went on to write 'Diet for a New America'? Is it me, or wouldn't he be a more appropriate guest? Or is Lime not what I thought it is? I'm REALLY confused.
