Not only genetics...

I've never really liked animal testing... but aside this slight issue, this is just sad. But at least it can be prevented, it may not be even remotely easy but now we know that genetics only plays a role as opposed to being the main and ultimate component. It's just a matter of everyone working together and contributing to solve these issues.

Toxic Alert !
by christinejohncola on May 15, 2007 - 4:49pm

Great article!! People just don't want to believe it enough to change their lifestyles. According to a 15-year study presented at the Toronto Indoor Air Conference, women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than those who work away from home. The study concluded that this was a direct result of the increased exposure to toxic chemicals, many of which are found in common household products. The EPA says that only a fraction of the more than 75,000 registered chemicals have gone through testing for human health concerns. An average home generates over 25 pounds of toxic, hazardous waste each year. Much of this waste can be attributed to household cleaning products.

Just switch from toxic to non-toxic and start with your home environment. Don't wait...I finally changed and threw away all my cleaning supplies...I was of the mindset that the stronger the fumes, the more it cleaned. But clean doesn't have a smell . I want to at least do something to avoid toxic substances in my environment. I finally found products that work and are safe, powerful, green and smart. Shaklee Corporation has come out with "Get Clean" shown on Oprah's earth day show last month. They are the best products I've ever used. I love them so much---that I need to spread the word.

log on to my website www.shaklee.net/chrstine_johncola/getclean for more info.Don't take my word for it ....try it for yourself...we need to make our home environments safe for us and the people around us. As women, we owe it to ourselves to stay informed and then do something about it.

It is important to eat right and try and counteract the free radicals in the environment.  It isn't just about genetics anymore and living healthy.  Look at Dana Reeves.  She died of lung cancer and never smoked a day in her life.
