“I Do” Dream of a Green Wedding
Posted by Sharon Cummings on February 5, 2009 - 7:25pm.

It can seem like there’s no such thing as a wedding without pomp, excess, and a cake taller than your flower girl. Isn’t the phrase “green wedding” an oxymoron?

Actually, no. Lest we forget: there’s always the original “green” wedding: throw on a cocktail dress, tie some cans from the blue bin to the back of your bike, and pedal down to the nearest courthouse. Then again, that sort of simplicity won’t work for everyone (such as, for instance, your doily-crazed Aunt Bertha). As Grist’s green sage Umbra Fisk puts it, “In the modern wedding context, it might be difficult for the family to feel happy or comfortable just having a simple event, which we might call the ‘reduce’ wedding.”

Besides, weddings — gasp — can actually be quite fun to plan. After all, it’s often a couple’s first opportunity to declare their mutual values to the world — to share their spiritual beliefs, their passion for farm-fresh ingredients, their weakness for those cute old-fashioned blue Mason jars.

Thankfully, the wedding world is a lot wider than it used to be, and it’s perfectly possible to have an all-out soiree that still sits right with your conscience. To help flesh out the possibilities, we've rounded up this list of some of our favorite wedding vendors in cities around the country for a glimpse of greener options on the matrimonial frontlines.

Wow that would certainly add loads of sentiment to the engagement ring, if you have your name engraved to the ring its usually seen as a deeper commitment between the couple but it also shows the strength of the bond of love between the would be bride and groom. diamond engagement rings happen to be the most popular engagement rings that couple like to choose for their engagement.

Green wedding is really a

Green wedding is really a concept in weddings, I really am not sure how many people are into getting their weddings to be eco friendly and green. Yet I think there are thousand of dollars wasted in wedding receptions and lavish wedding parties instead just control the splurging and care a little about the environment. That also goes for your wedding photoghraper, do away with large old model camera and use digital camera so that you can pick pictures from the slides and create only those which you would like to keep and disband the rest.

You have added some lovely links for jewelry and I checked each one of them including Brilliant Earth & Green Karat and I must say recycled jewelry is a must buy and you should have one in your collection. Eco jewelry should be thought of as being cool.

I really did not know that there were so so many ways to make a Wedding Green. It is fabulous to see that the term Green can be applied now to so many areas in our lives. I am thinking that in another 5 or so years the world will be a much different place then it is now or has been in the past with a whole new generation of people thinking this exact way. Nice article which I am going to share with my girlfriends. :)
