Skincare tips from Garnier Nutritioniste
2: Vitamin C
Getting plenty of vitamin C and lycopene in your diet could help prevent signs of aging. The top sources of vitamin C are bell peppers, oranges, strawberries and broccoli. For lycopene, go for tomatoes. A delicious way to help improve your skin!
3: Prevent Lines
To help prevent lines around the eyes, take care of them with eye cream day and night. Wearing sunglasses helps prevent the effects of UV and also keeps you from squinting in the sunlight.
4: Uneven Skintone
Uneven skin tone? Don’t get mad; get even. Balance your skin with regenerating moisturizers and exfoliate weekly to bring newer, healthier-looking skin to the surface. Get extra defense by using a moisturizer with SPF and anti-oxidants and by wearing a hat and sunglasses.
5: Dry of Flaky Skin
For dry or flaky skin, smooth the surface by performing a mild exfoliation to get the dry top layer of skin off. Then moisturize and maintain a balanced environment. If your environment is dry, try using a humidifier. Caution: Cleansing with hot water will dry out your skin. However, cold water won’t clean the bacteria and sebum. Most effective is lukewarm temperature.
6: Lock in Moisture
Eating lots of foods with protective omega-3 fats could help your skin lock in moisture. Foods like fish, walnuts, flax seeds and olive oil are excellent sources.
7: Fine Lines
Have fine lines around the mouth? Gum chewing, drinking with straws, and smoking all contribute to these lines. Good news: if you have lip lines, it’s not too late! Always use lip protection, applying a little above and below the lip.
