Should I Replace paper plates and plastic forks at barbeque? If so, with what?

Our barbeque is coming up and I was going for paper plates but it just felt wrong.  Should I use something other that paper plates, plastic forks, etc?  Plastic plates seem to be 'wrong' too. 

Is there anything that I should use that I'm just not thinking of?

There's got to be something creative going on that I don't know about.

I use plastic plates, knives and forks...but I bring them home and rewash even though they are meant to be disposable.  I'm not bringing my good plateware to a picnic...and this way you can still CUT your food and not have a sopping wet lap.

Veneerware from a company called Bambu is a good alternative to paper plates. It's made from organic bamboo and the company also sells disposable utensils made from bamboo. I have seen the plates in my local grocery stores and you can buy them online. Here's some more information:
