So I finally think I trained myself to have enough self control to keep on with this. I've been eating every 2-3 hours, light and healthy snacks of course. I generally stick to raw fruits and veggies because I'm scared this new habit might backfire on me. I don't want to lose track of what I eat and just stick with the habit of eating 2-3 hours regardless of how fattening those "snacks" are.
Does anyone have any good ideas for light and healthy snacks?? I'll keep eating my raw fruit or raw vegetable but it'd be nice to add variety.
Eating a morning and afternoon snack has worked wonderfully for me! I have some ideas to help you add variety. Have you tried The Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss cheese wedges? They are only 35 calories. I eat them with a spoon right out of the package, but you can spread them onto some little crackers or celery. Also, those BabyBel rounds are good - they are little red wax covered cheese. I think about 50 calories. How about edemame? If you buy them in the shell and steam them for about 5 minutes... you shell them as you eat them, you can use your mouth to pop out the beans. Tasty AND healthy. Hot OR cold. Also, I buy raw almonds and walnuts (I've heard that the heart healthy fats are compromised when they are roasted) and bag them in 1 oz. portions and keep them in the freezer. Quick, healthy snack.
Adding some good protein and fiber will help to keep you satisfied and on-track!!!! Hope this helps! ;)
Lately, I have been eating like a graser. That is the term they call it when you eat every couple of hours. I started exercising more and I notice that I get hungry more often. I like to think it is my metabolism speeding up. Wishful thinking.
Anyway, i llike to munch on berries, popcorn and some cut-up veggies, mostly pepppers. I am amazed on how many containers of strawberries I go through. I just love them. Also wallaby yogurt is my favorite and sometimes I'll splurge and have baked chips with salsa (of course organic).
I am a graser. I think that is how you spell it. Anyway, I try and eat several small snacks a day. Strawberries are my latest favorite food as welll as popcorn. I also like wallaby yogurt and salsa and chips. I find that with working out more, I need to keep my belly full. They say that eating small meals is the best way to keep up your metabolism and stay satisfied.
I love those baby bells too. My mom used to buy them all the time. I loved unpeeling them.

Almonds are a good choice. They are filling and have a lot of fiber. But only a handful...
Yes after I heard that the body hits a starvation point every 4 hours or so I tried to get in this habit. It's hard though, and you really do require a lot of discipline and preparation. I program my cellphone to beep every 3-4 hours to beep so I won't forget to have my snack.
I really love all the ideas that were posted in the comments above and I also heard almonds were very good in protein, plus theyre very tastey!
