LED bulb replacement segment?
Posted by SirTravers on March 3, 2007 - 6:31pm.

Danny I'm really enjoying listening to the new show every week. You're making us backyard composters, and house greeners look more hip than the dirt covered folks that many think we are.

Might it be possible to have a segment on the show regarding LED lighting for the home? I'm starting to see more styles online lately and with the giant difference in energy consumption and waste heat these things are bound to be a big hit as their price comes down.

Thanks,

Justin Travis

Lovington, NM.

He is really great!  I liked his LIME video on green paint.  He always has unique ideas to help create a more eco-friendly home and environment. How does the LED light look?  Never heard the expression "house greener" funky!!

LED bulbs link

Here's a link to a place in Oregon that's selling the LED bulbs. Yes they're expensive, but so were DVD players just a few years ago.

I'm thinking about trying some of these as I've found through trial and error that the CF bulbs do not last long if inverted in a downward facing socket due to ballast overheating.

Observe the world as though you were a child and enjoy the wonder of it all.

LED for outdoor lighting?

I'm considering an outdoor landscape lighting project to replace lighting and fixtures in the backyard garden (helpful guide for general low voltage setups /...), and am also interested in LED options for landscape lighting.
