Does anyone know of a simple way to recycle empty prescription bottles?

I've read from envirowoman that some pharmacy take them back to be recycled.

What is the recycling number on the bottom of the bottle? If you contact your local recycling company they will tell you how to recycle them based on that number. Not sure if the pharmacy will take them back since there may be health issues involved.

Our local curbside program won't take prescription bottles and the pharmacy won't re-use them.  I just hate throwing them away and I've reused all that I can at home, so now what?

Maybe use them for your herbs or possibly desk supplies like paper clips and pushpins. Just a thought.

I been doing some web-home work. There are some medical missions that will take them. I am going to ask around the web.

Ask your local Rite Aid as many of them offer a recycling program for their bottles. Other drugstores may do the same but I know some RiteAids offer this service. Good Luck.
