A few days ago I was reading up on jjacksons' blog about the new Shrek movie and aspirations for some striving towards including eco related topics
It reminded me of this futuristic movie that I saw and I had to take it out of the DVD case and watch it all over again. It's a funny and ... juvenile movie for the most part but as you laugh at how ridiculous it is, it does make you think if that is a future we are headings towards.
Have any of you seen it? Or are there other movies similar or just in general that you would like to point out?
Interests: I love putting wonderful organic food into my body. I love exercise, dance, running, swimming in tropical waters, yoga, breathing. I love healing and traveling. I am still creating my dream of combining the two in my career. I am passionate about supporting people through their life process. That is what I do for a living as a therapist. It is truely intriguing for me. This is where I thrive. I love witnessing people in their healing process and watching them transform. I love being so uttlerly connected with myself. Feels like a total gift! I love learning about other cultures and experiencing them. I love to nurture my relationships.
Inspiration: My inspiration is my trust in life unfolding and the way things happen. It is fasinating for me to see the universe in action. I trust in perfect timing of life, even when emotionally it may feel otherwise. I trust in divine order. All of the paths inspire me because they are all wanting to get to the same place. I connect with eastern philosophy, and ancient ways of healing.
I love Sci-Fi... and sometimes, when mixed well, a little bit of comedy thrown in there doesn't offend me too much.
I saw the movie, it had some pretty idiotic scenes but like you said ironically it does make sense, we're probably heading towards a similar future... in a very exaggerated parallel universe... but we are.. in some way.
I liked Office Space way more though, he won't be able to top that movie.
Been a huge fan of Mike Judge since "Frog Baseball" way back when it premiered on MTV's "Liquid Television"
I kind of fell in love with the movie Idiocracy when it became the "little guy" and fox execs where trying to kill the movie, by giving it almost no promotion and releasing it in a few very, very, small theaters.
It was a good movie that although was funny and just plain ridiculous....it made you think for a moment (or a little longer in my case....like 3 days and then some) if that's where we as a civilization are headed...
Don't expect too much comedy and laughter...I mean I loved the movie, but it was in no way the second coming of "Office Space".... but do expect to sit down and think/talk about some of the messages within the movie.
