For us It's a Health Thing

My family grew up on a farm. We had fresh everything! Eggs, Chicken, Goat, Cows, Pigs, Ducks,  corn, spinach, peas and beans....etc. To taste what we can get at the local grocer or supercenter it's no comparison. There's just something much better about fresh food as compared to store bought foods. Aside from the herbicide and pesticide issue most storebought food has been in the packing and shipping system for at least several weeks.

I'm in an area where everything is trucked in right now because of how poor our soil is, but I'm keeping my eye out for those lucky enough to have ammended their soil and have extra food to sell. Maybe if enough of us here get to that point we can start a co-op.

Observe the world as though you were a child and enjoy the wonder of it all.

I think that for me it is a combination of environmental and health.  I kinda think the two go hand in hand.  Organic is good for me and it is also good for the land.

Personally for health.  It is beneificial for the the environment from the microbes to the flora and fauna.  Political issues will be coming in the future.

You are probably right.  Eventually since organics is becoming quite trendy, I can only assume that everyone will want to jump on the bandwagon eventually.

I hope that the goverment keeps the high standards of the organic movement and not use it to further someone elses political agenda.

healthy life promotes healthy community

I view it has a healthy choice for my famiy and my community. It provides a healthy economy when I buy locally and organic, and it keeps me feeling good, both physically and emotionally.

Giving back to the land is important, but when I purchase products, it is usually based on a health reason more so than any other.
