Organic All-Natural Colon Cleansing
Posted by Martin R. on March 8, 2007 - 12:32pm.

Hi.

I was just wondering if anyone in here has tried Oxy-Powder. It's a Intestinal / Colon Cleanser, produced by an Organic Healthcare company called Global Healing Center. They mainly make Organic & Herbal supplements which are designed to improve your health.

I've been trying to become healthier and someone mentioned Colon Cleansing, once I started the research, I found this company. I've already gone completely Organic, and this company beleives in the same thing. I was impressed by their products, and figured I would ask around.

I had never really heard of colon cleansing so I too checked on line.  I found this site that compares the various cleansers.  They recommended Colonex.  The reviewer  did try Oxy-Powder and liked the Colonex better. I think you may find this helpful.  Keep us posted!

I have not tried OxyPowder, but I do believe in Colon Cleansing.  I have been doing it for years.  I have tried many brands.  Some have made me very sick.  The one I use now is Arbonne's.  (I am an Arbonne Consultant).  It has never make me sick, instead it keeps me very regular.  I take it most every night before I go to bed.  I am never worried about when my colon is going to cleanse :)

I'd love to hear what you find out when you are done with your research.

advice for a novist
by Vicki_R on March 13, 2007 - 10:47am

Do you find that cleansing your colon helped you to loose weight and when you mean you got sick, how sick did you get and what were the symptoms?

I am thinking about doing it, but am a bit apprehensive about it, especially now since you said you have gotten ill by doing it. It makes sense to cleanse your body, but I don't want to upset the chemical balance of my body either.  Anu advice for a novist?

cleanse

There are a couple of reasons to cleanse your colon.  It is a good way to help clear up acne.  Since acne comes from the inside.  I also use it to make me regular.

This is what is on the Arbonne website about their colon cleanse...A robust blend of cleansing and detoxifying herbs, plus beneficial microflora, that supports colon health. It’s safe, natural, mild and promotes a healthy colon by naturally eliminating potentially harmful toxins.

The one I used that made me sick, I got from a friend who had an herbal party.  I don't know if I should name names, but I will if you want me to.  I threw up for about an hour after taking it.  Funny thing, so did 3 other people that bought it.  I called the consultant and they said I got a bad batch, whatever that means.  I will never switch brands again!!

I would say most are safe, but you should definately research the company you buy them from, just like any herbal product.  Herbal products are not regulated by the FDA.  You want to make sure and find a company that makes sure every pill has the same potency.   Not all companies take the same procautions.

As for losing weight.  You may lose a little in the beginning, but I take them regularly, so I would say my weight is consistant.  Colon Cleansing isn't like a laxative.  Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the heads up!  Will taking the cleanser keep me in the house or can I go about my daily activities?

Cabbage soup and applejuice
by SirTravers on March 25, 2007 - 10:01pm

I grew up with a grandmother that didn't believe in doctors. If one of us kids got into the peanut butter a little too much it was apple juice and cabbage soup for us. She apparently knew just how much we needed because there would be a good "cleansing" the next morning. It was never painful and we usually got a smaller bowl of the soup and one or two glasses of the juice the next day just to finish things off.

I still use this method for my kids today. Thank goodness they like the soup as much as I did when I was little.

good combo
by Vicki_R on March 26, 2007 - 10:14am

Is it like the cabbage soup in the cabbage soup diet?  I have heard of it, but never tried it.  I wonder what is in the apple juice and soup combo that can clean you out.

Do you still use it to cleanse your system?

Still use the soup and juice

Not sure about a Cabbage soup diet, but I'm sure the soup is the same. Now minds you I have a 6 person household, but here's the recipe we use. Chop up one head of cabbage and put it in a large stock pot and put enough water in to let it float. Bring to a good simmer until tender. We don't add salt, but use garlic and pepper to add taste.

For the folks who like meat in everything you can add some sliced kielbasa or other lean smoked sausage. Do Not Eat more than one bowl of this per meal! And yes I mean a cereal bowl size not a Jethro bowl size. We want to cleanse not purge.

The pectin in the apple juice is what "gets things moving." It's another one of those "a little is better than a lot" kind of juices. Remember prune juice? Anyhow we usually eat one meal of this every month. It seems to help things stay the way they should be to keep most of the gastric nasties away.

more soup
by Vicki_R on March 26, 2007 - 3:14pm
It sounds a little bland.  Can you put in tomatoes or something else in it?  My father went on the cabbage diet and he said all you eat is soup for like a week.  It sounded a bit radical to me, but to each his own.

Surprisingly good
by SirTravers on March 27, 2007 - 9:13pm

Yes the soup does seem bland by seeing the recipe in print. It's surprisingly tasty though. I would guess you could add something like a tomato or two. It's till good for you, but don't add so much that it just becomes another stew. That would lead us over to the other topic of "feeding the senses."

I too have heard a lot about colon cleansing, but have been hesitant.  Maybe this soup is the right baby step for me to take.  I just don't want to be miserable and glued to the lieu all day.

update for everyone
by Ohealth on April 16, 2007 - 11:35am

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since I updated everyone here... (if anyone is still reading this thread)

I just wanted to tell everyone, that I still haven't tried any of the colon cleansers. I checked out the Best-Colon-Cleanser site thru colon-zone.org, and when I started doing some research on Colonix, I decided not to do that one because I heard that they use ALOT of fiber, and it can make people constipated. I found this colon cleansing blog, and he is doing the colonix cleanse right now. He's having alot of problems with it. Plus you have to mix teas and fiber shakes, plus have a strict diet. Seems too complicated and will take away time I need for my daily routines.

The oxypowder appeals to me because you only have to take a few pills at nite, and other sites have them ranked #1 for oxygen-based colon cleansers. Not really sure what the difference between oxygen-based colon cleansers & regular colon cleansers are. If anyone could tell me, that would be great!

Vicki - did you ever try the Colonix? How did it go for you? Curious, about it. Anyways, I'll check in more often. Thanks everyone.
