With a less than pleasant forecast calling for 80% chance of severe thunderstorms, flood and tornado watches, that did not stop Jenny McCarthy, Jim Carrey and thousands of other families to take a stand and be heard to tell our government to “Green our Vaccines.”  Thousands of people from all over the country including Canada, Mexico and the Philippines created their own storm front blowing into Washington bringing their evidence of harm to Capitol Hill.

Our family and friends headed to the march with the sun shining and no storms in sight.  We lined up at the Washington Monument and started marching through the streets of DC, our destination Capitol Hill.  Tourists and motorists could not miss us. There was even one frustrated man in his car honking and gave us the bird.  I just turned towards the traffic with my baby in tow holding my sign, blew him a kiss and marched on. My husband saw a man speaking in French explaining to his son what we were doing.  I am sure it was a learning experience for many.

As we marched on we saw people in buildings waving at us, and then we came to the US Health Department. Not a soul in site. Out of no where my mouth opened and I started shouting, “ SHOW YOUR FACES.... SHAME ON YOU...!” I seemed to be possessed for a moment.  We soon made it to the Capitol grounds were we found some shade to cool off and listen to the speakers.

First to speak was Amy Carson from  Moms Against Mercury.  

A quote from her website, "My son was born a healthy child. As time went on and the more he was vaccinated, the more he started to change. Not knowing that mercury was in vaccines until he was four years old, I had no idea what was truly wrong with him. Some said Autism, PDD, etc., while others had no clue. Upon inadvertently finding out about the mercury in vaccines, it was then that I realized by putting all his abnormal tests together that he was truly mercury toxic.

I was outraged that I was not told that the most powerful neurotoxin was going to be injected in my new born child. It has devastated and changed our lives forever. I have become dedicated to raising awareness and educating the public to this danger, hoping that informing people will help them save their children unlike I was able to do.

When the Homeland Security Bill was passed it had a hidden rider attached protecting Eli-Lilly, the original maker of thimerosal, the mercury based preservative in vaccines, from our litigation. Meanwhile, the Bush Administration also asked that our records, in the Federal Court of Claims, be sealed from the public. It was then that I rallied with many parents to make changes and have not stopped since. They robbed my child of who God intended him to be and they continually try to rob us of our day in court.

I am dedicated to advocating for safer and mercury free vaccines and helping to educate parents by raising awareness of the mercury and the other dangerous ingredients in our vaccines. This country has the ability to make them safer. We need to work together and see that it happens."

Ms. Carson then introduced on of American’s well know Pediatricians, Dr. Jay Gordon. He got the rally goers fired up and made it clear that “we are not anti-vaccine” He spoke of families in his practice and what he has personally witnessed  of the vaccine damage and reactions. The message they wanted to get through is that vaccines need to be cleaned up and not given so soon when a child is still developing an immune system.

One of my favorite speakers and vaccination whistle-blower, Robert Kennedy Jr., took over the stage. He spoke about how he was thrown into this issue and discovered a huge government cover up that he wrote about in a 2005 Rolling Stone Article Deadly Immunity.  In the article he writes, “Even for scientists and doctors accustomed to confronting issues of life and death, the findings were frightening. "You can play with this all you want," Dr. Bill Weil, a consultant for the American Academy of Pediatrics, told the group. The results "are statistically significant." Dr. Richard Johnston, an immunologist and pediatrician from the University of Colorado whose grandson had been born early on the morning of the meeting's first day, was even more alarmed. "My gut feeling?" he said. "Forgive this personal comment -- I do not want my grandson to get a thimerosal-containing vaccine until we know better what is going on."

He also hammered at the Press to do proper investigation, read the studies (not just the fake ones) and report the facts, not just what is in Big Pharma and the CDC’s press releases.

There were a few speakers that I missed but some of the most thoughtful and thought provoking words came from Jim Carrey and Jenny herself. “ I want to ask the CDC one question,” Jim said, “How stupid do you think we are?”  A usually silly Carrey was poised and heartfelt as he spoke to the crowd. “ We are here today because we have seen our perfectly normal children descend into a state of emotional isolation, physical agony and mental confusion after a trip to the pediatrician.”  He also spoke of the idea many people believe that over that past few decades corporate influence has turned the vaccine program into a profit engine.  He called for “real science and not propaganda.” He also stated the fact that we need Independent Studies that are not funded by the pharmaceutical companies.

In 1983 children were given 10 shots and autism was 1 in 10,000 now in 2008 children get 36 shots and autism is 1 in 150 with 1 in 90 being boys. It is not a coincidence.

Jenny took the stage after Jim and said I am not here as a celebrity I am here as a mom and I want to give this time to you so please turn around, face the cameras and show them your photos and I will play a song.   Everyone lifted their photos, signs and children as the song “Change is Gonna Come” played over the Capitol lawn.

Our family like many in the crowd stopped vaccinating or did not vaccinate their children after what happened to their other children or just by becoming informed.  Based on the information I have learned vaccines are not safe, are not effective, and did not eradicate disease. So my question is why inject your children when you cannot even get a guarantee? Do you know what is in that needle?

The Vaccine issue goes way beyond autism.  We have a health epidemic on our hands and an entirely different drug war.  Be informed you owe it to your children. Ask yourself, “What have you got to loose?” Many have lost their children. Don’t become another victim.
