I use vinegar as an alternative to many different chemicals. What else do you use vinegar for in your home?
A few of the things I use vinegar for:
*Killing weeds.
*Keeping car windows frost free.
*Cleaning fresh vegetables.
*Relieving sunburn.
*Getting the smoke smell out of clothes.
*Cleaning mirrors, glass, even eyeglasses.
What else?
I use vinegar to de-lime (the scale not the website :)) my faucets and such that get a buildup- No need to use the harsh lime-away... put vingear and a little water (or straight) in a spray bottle and drench it and let it sit... it will eat it up in no time flat! if not douse again..lastly use it straight if need be but seriously it will make the chrome on your faucets shine like crazy....
Vinegar also removes pet stains and the smell...so pets don't re-use a spot..
to tenderize meat when cooking add a tablespoon of viegar to the marinade or basting liquid.
Not only do I use vinegar for cleaning almost everything in my home, I also found an unexpected use for it.
This fall, I had a terrible case of poison ivy. Cold vinegar/water compresses relieved the itching!!
