I personallly can think of a buch of things you could use the oil tanks for, and I'm sure there are others out there that may be interested.
As an example, many restaurants, and car service shops, need containers like those to store their used oil.
Another potential for use for small containers, is to cut them in half and plant flower beds in them....I remember my Uncle doing something like that when I was younger, he had two huge decorative planters, that he did not want to plant directly into, so he cut one of those large 55 gallon drums in half and and placed those halves inside the planters, turned out to be a lot cheaper than than buying pots, becuase the guy he got them from was in a similar problem that you are having.
It appears from your posting that you are located both in Viginia and Florida. Being located in New England, obviously Virginia would be much better for us no matter how the tanks are transported. Please clarify your location in your reply.
Please reply here and we'll work out a temporary e-mail address.
Thankyou.i used their internal email system as i do not want to post my email on the board.
send me yours also.
thanks.
Wendy,
Do you/hubby still have the oil tanks? Are you in VA or FLA? I am in central VA and would take as many as you care to get rid of... I found your post via a google search and thought it might be worth pursuing.. you are good to keep them out of a landfill... worst fate for recycleables..cheers... (I will try and check back here at the post to see if you get this inquiry...)
