Are these a homemade recipe you made up or did you get it from somewhere.  I have NEVER heard of these and would not have even given this combo a thought.  Though if you make them with dark chocolate, they are full of nutritional value.

My question is whoever thought of dipping bell peppers in chocolate in the first place? I can actually imagine a red or orange bell pepper dipped in chocolate but green bell peppers, I don't think so.

Anxious to hear where this recipe came from......

It's a KIND of pepper
by carolie on August 25, 2007 - 4:12am
Sorry....but this is not a recipe for chocolate-dipped peppers!  A "Chocolate Sweet Bell Pepper" is a particular kind of bell pepper. Some peppers are red, some orange, some yellow, some purple...these are a rich brown with green stems. They're simply sweet, delicious bell peppers named for their skin color.

WOW-we were all off base.  No, I have never ever heard of these.  Where did you see them and where did you get them?  I go to farmers markets, shop at WHole Foods and other natural stores and have never come across them.  I would love to give them a try.

I have heard of these peppers, but couldn't imagine they'd taste any good. What dishes or recipes could you use them in?

chocolate bell peppers

I use chocolate bell peppers in stir fry, philly steak onion and bell fry, salads, with veggie dips,or just eat them raw they have a sweet taste that is pleasing to the pallet.  I have used the seeds and am now growing  15 plants.  I have only found them once at the flea market here in Florida at the beginning of the summer. They are delicious so if you can find them definitely buy a few.

When I first saw the title, I thought someone dipped a pepper in chocolate.  I've never heard of these.  Never saw them in a grocery store either unless I'm not looking hard enough.

They're  a dark burgundy/brown. Really good raw and also on the grill. I'm sad pepper season is about over - I haven't seen them at our market in at least two or three weeks.

Great section to offer.
by patric548 on July 9, 2009 - 5:26am

Great section to offer.  I had a bad case of poisen ivy a few years ago and nothing was helping.  I did go online for natural remedies and they said to use the inside of a banana peel.  Rub it on and it draws out the moisture to dry it up.  It actually worked!

Admittedly, finding a healthy yet tasty cereal is hard work! I’ve tried a lot of kinds and compared lots of different brands but I find the Kashi brand to be the best. Their Good friends cereal, Go Lean and Heart to Heart cereal are pretty good. If you want a bit more crunch, try the Go Lean Crunch. The Heart to Heart cereal is almost like cheerios but they taste a lot better and are better for you. Nature’s Path makes good cereals as well, although they are higher in calories.

I like Multigrain oatbran flakes cereal by Nature’s Path. It’s all organic. However, it does contain some evaporated cane juice, but it doesn’t seem to be much because the cereal is not very sweet. I like the flavor and it stays crunchy after being in milk for a while. It also comes in 32 oz size bags which means you buy less packaging.

by Gvvg56 on September 12, 2009 - 8:20pm

I have eaten and grown these for many years but I had never heard of them to be called chocolate peppers before. Sounds like a great marketing name to me.

Yes, these are nice peppers. I use them for color more than anything!
