Think you’re a healthy eater?  It’s not always about what you eat but how you combine certain foods that should be eaten together a recent study says.  For your body to reap the best benefits, certain food combinations are in order.  Pair your brightly colored produce with some fat and when taking dairy products for calcium take note that vitamin D also needs fat to be absorbed. Also, the article said don’t drink tea and coffee with your meals, the polyphenols and tannins in these beverages can inhibit iron absorption. Are we making being healthy too complicated?

Today there was just an article on LIME about insulin and the levels it needs to be to loose weight.  Yes, I think it is getting to be too darn complicated to find the right formula to loose and maintain an ideal weight.  What ever happened to eating a balanced diet and exercise.  It only gets harder when you turn 40!

I just read an article that featured food combinations.  It also added that to recieve the iron in cereal in the morning, you should either have your coffee 1 hour prior to eating or 1 hour after to get the benefits.  Aslo, carrots are  better eaten cooked.  It's amazing how much you can still learn.
