Lame excuses
Posted by Statuesqueone on May 4, 2007 - 4:02pm.
I made a pack with myself to ditch my lame excuses for not working out, not eating right, not turning the water off, leaving the lights on, etc..... and I plan on keeping it. I just need to think of a way to reward myself every time I don't give in to my excuses. Maybe just knowing I am doing things to better myself and the world I live in will be enough. If that's not enough, I know where the chocolate bowl is!

getting started is the hardest part

Here here.  As the ad says, just do it!  The hardest part is getting started.  Once you do it, you do really get into it and it becomes habit.  Now I am really liking going to the gym and taking my spin classes.  Just getting my gear out of closet and getting my butt to the gym really was the hardest part.

Works for me!

I agree that getting started is the hardest part. What I always tell myself is that I can stop any time I want all I have to do is get going. Nine times out of ten I will just finish my work out or walk.As far as being more conscientious about turning off lights and not letting the water run, all it takes is actually thinking about it. I'm finding that I like being "in the moment" instead of absent mindly going about my day. Making an effort to be more Green makes me more aware of what is going on around me and I like that.

being more aware

I find that I like being more aware of my decisions as well.  I find that when I think about what I am going to do, and the reason for my decision, I feel that I am being a better person.  And that makes me feel good.  It makes me feel like I am part of a larger picture.
