Sustainable Living
Posted by Harley on September 11, 2007 - 1:32pm.
I was thinking of the phrase "sustainable living" and I wondered what does that really mean and what things in my life sustain me.  We toss the phrase around a lot and you hear it everywhere now, but really think about how it works in YOUR life.  Would love to hear your thoughts.

Peace of mind

Things that sustain me are my family, especially my  husband.  WIthout him, my life would be very hectic, lonely and anxious ridden.  He helps me to calm down when I am upset and lends a hand to make my life better.  Peace of mind is what sustains me. With everything going on, when my head is clear, my life is much better.

in the energy business

sustainable living, in the business of providing energy for our living and working spaces, means that there is a system or systems, such as photovoltaic solar panels, skylights or windmills --- a combination of ways to create as much energy as is consumed in the home or building ... there are many products on the market now, such as solar powered home air conditioners and refrigerators, that are bringing us closer to this goal ... a house or building that is totally sustained would have no electric or other energy bill ... in addition, all waste products are normally thrown in the trash and hauled away would be recycled and used in other ways ... San Francisco is the first city in the nation to get close to this goal and it has taken a great effort among the people there to make the progress that they have made ... hats off to the City by the Bay!
