Living a Whole Life
Posted by Vicki_R on June 29, 2007 - 2:45pm.

Do you define your life by the sum of its parts or are you living a Whole Life?  Recently I cut out a page in a magazine that outlined 10 Thoughts on Whole Living.  It basically said that we need to define ourselves by who we are and not the roles we play.  That we can find our direction in life by looking where we want to go, not where we don’t.  It made me think that the process of getting somewhere is as important as the destination.  Are you living a Whole Life?

thanks for making me think

So many times we do define ourselves by wife, mother, daughter, friend etc.  I don't even really know who I am if not for these roles.  What makes me really happy, what makes me content and what would I  really like to do with my life.  I know I don't want to look back and think I could have.  I need to seriously give this some more thought.

Well I think that many of us are guilty of forgetting what we truly want and simply do what is expected of us as opposed to following dreams and living by our inner passion. I've always tried to stay intact with what lily truly wants but I still try to please my loved ones, but just like Harley if there is something that I don't want to have later on is regrets. But that's just impossible.

my grandmother knew
by Vicki_R on June 29, 2007 - 7:27pm
I want to enjoy my life and not have any regrets at the end.  My grandmother did that.  After she raised her children, she became very involved in philantropic causes and rose to an international position.  She had the chance to travael the world and meet heads of state.  I don't know if my grandfather appreciated it all the time, but in the end, she did what she wanted to do to make herself happy and fufilled.  I want to have the courage to do that, whatever that may be.
