Has more daylight helped to invigorate you and give you more energy to do the things you want to do? Is it giving you the momentum you need to make some changes in your life?
Being able to sit and watch my younger son play t-ball is what summertime is all about. I pack a picnic for my family and we just hang out and take in the fresh air. Afterwards we may go for icecream. It makes all of us feel free and lighthearted.
Every time the spring and summer approach, I find myself feeling like I have been released to freedom. I get much more done during the sunshiney-months and enjoy life much much more -- gardening, walking barefoot out of doors, stroller time with my daughter, hiking. What isn't good about the sunshine (except getting burnt of course?)
If there's anything that I like about summer is having the feeling that there are more hours in the day. You just feel that you just have more time to complete your errands. It's soothing.
I do feel more energized actually. I can go for walks after work now if I don't wake up early enough to go in the mornings before work. There's also that relaxation that you don't have to do everything so quick because you get the sense that there is just a little bit more time, and you keep on even after 6! So does the sunlight keep me energized? Yes, it does!
You feel that you don't have to rush to do everything. I feel that I can water my plants and flowers later, can have dinner later and just not feel that I have to cram everything in.
The extra sunshine does a body good...especially me...My last name actually means sun....On cloudy days---I'm a bust---But on SUNNY days---I'm on top of the world...Love Daylight Savings time...
Hot fun in the summertime...especially down here in NOLA...
Sun makes us feel good. When it is light outside, I get the urge to sit down in my backyard, have a glass of wine or an iced tea and think about life or just relax. Dusk is one of my favorite times of day. So beautiful!!!
My wife & little one will be heading to the Jersey shore to enjoy the sunshine...on June 14---for an entire week w/o me...b/c I have a big project at work....Rah! Rah!---They'll be hanging on the beach--- eating a slice of Saw Mill pizza for me....
I kinda like the winter months in that they let me hibernate without having to make excues. But now that summer is just around the corner, I to am happy it is here. There is a lighter feeling in the air. My block is full of kids riding their bikes and skateboards and it's good to see my neighbors again. The longer days make everyone more social.
a time when I adored winter. Growing up in Canada we really got the chance to experience all 4 seasons in the extreme. 4 years ago our family relocated to Texas and the culture shock, as well as the climate shock had me worried for a few months.
We took the kids home last winter for a 3 week visit and realized how accustomed we had grown to the southern sunshine. Our 3 kids (who were all actually born in Canada) thought the snow was cool, for like 2 days, then the novelty wore thin and they were begging to go "home". The sun is deffinately our source of energy/well being. American politics are another story altogether, but as for our geography .. it is literally greener and sunnier on the other side of the fence.
I lived in Florida for awhile and I never thought I would get tired of the sun-but I did. It was like too much dessert. Now I appreciate the longer days and the warmth on my face. Winter makes you realize how good the sun feels.
I do suffer from the winter time blues from lack of sun. I have a much more positive outlook during the sunnier days. I love taking walks with my dog or taking him to the doggy park. It keeps me active but also out of the gym. Plus I get to play in my veggie garden. Yay!
Many people suffer from the wintertime blues. Especially if you are prown to depression. There have been many studies that confirm that. I thought of planting a veggie garden, but am a bit apprehenive. I thought I might start with a pot of herbs. Do you have any suggestions for some that are easy to take care of?

Anyone know of any organic sunscreens?

Hey Vicki,

Now that the sun is out, the weather is warmer, and the light sticks around for longer, I feel like a completely different person.
As much as I love the winter....I can't tell you how gloomy it usuallly makes me feel. Thank you Spring, and Hello Summer!
