Are You Lucky?
Posted by Vicki_R on May 7, 2007 - 12:36pm.

I was reading that the secret to good fortune has nothing to do with being blessed and everything to do with learning to trust your gut.  Studies show that lucky people practice tuning in to their hunches by meditation or just regularly finding quiet places to thin.  Can tapping into ourselves help us to make better decisions and make us happier?

yes, I do!!!

I have always considered myself a lucky person.  Things seem to work out for me for the most part (hope I don't jinx myself).  I have never meditated to do so, but I must say that I do listen to what my body tells me.  When something doesn't feel right, I trust that it is not the best thing for me to do.  So, the answer is yes, I do think we can tune in and think before leaping ahead and doing something that is not good for us.

create your own luck

Being tuned into your intuition, being able to listen to your gut, is very important. It's also important to see the bright side of things -- when we see the glass as half full, we are more open to chance opportunities that come to us, and we are more likely to perceive ourselves as lucky. And, when we are willing to take a chance, to step outside of our regular routine, we are also more likely to experience positive serendiptous events.

leomons into lemonade

Perception is half of the game.  Some people see things as you say half full and others half empty.  It is like people who can turn lemons into lemonade.  I do believe that we have the power to change our outlook and that may in turn bring us more luck.

Effects.

I can't say that I'm not guilty of feeling unlucky or lucky when I have those uncanny days where either everything goes good or just goes really bad.

Heck, sometimes I go like that for weeks. But I do feel that we are in charge of our luck. Everything that we do will have an effect in our lives. For instance neglecting bills and loved ones leads to a stressful and lonely path... you might suddenly find yourself in this situation feeling "unlucky" ...

For the most part I try to reflect on the effects that my actions will have on my life.

Do I feel luck.

I try to be optimisitic, so yea I do tend to say that I am lucky. I for the most part enjoy each experience in life, good or bad. Bad experiences make you stronger and if you make it out then you just become stronger.

It's all about mind control. But do I feel lucky? Well, I do. I'm here, alive, and healthy... for the most part.
