I think it was thursday or Friday this week the conversation was about learning to tune into your intuition. I couldn't think of how to practice that at work since I'm a crude oil hauler, but then I got to thinking I have to test the oil to see if it's ok to haul. I decided to use my gut feeling when I arrived at a lease and hook the truck up if I thought the load would be good and leave it disconnected if I thought the load would be bad. Well I'm 4 for 4 on the times that I left the truck unhooked. The first lease had 50 percent free water....49% over the limit. The second had 6 percent. The third was 2.5 percent and the fourth had 2 percent junk in the bottom of the tank with an 18 inch bottom which is 10 inches too high. I know for most folks you're thinking it's weird to use this way to check my intuition, but it saves me about 5 minutes of work each time I'm right. I get paid by the load so time saved is money earned.
Well that's my little blurb on this subject. Have any of you been practicing this in any way? Let us know what your results are!
Interests: Living life as an intiatic experience, uniting with like minds and hearts to build a better, cleaner, more peaceful world, listening to the wisdom of the inner voice, communing with the elemental forces of Nature, the arts, media and communications, personal growth and development, the natural healing arts, interesting cuisines, cinema, all that expands the consciousness, betters the Self, and links me with THAT from Which I come.
Inspiration: Whitman, Thoreau, the Tao, deep meditation, spiritually anointed words carried on the human voice and the Cosmic Winds, being with those of like mind and calling.
Listening to my intuition has led me on a path of many successes in my career and personal life. Everyone has intuition from the minute they are born, but it took me a long time to understand and take hold of it. I was able to do it with yoga and meditation. Put simply, there is a clarity and focus that I have cultivated that cuts through the poo-poo that life can throw at you. I am a firm believer in following your intuition, no matter how difficult the circumstances may be.

Ok I had an epiphany two days ago. I'd only been counting the number of times I did not hook the truck up at bad leases. I should have been counting the numerous times I did hook the truck up at good leases. That makes me feel even better.

Yay! It's wonderful to see you testing your intuitive abilities and stretching yourselves.
Sounds like you were listening to a recent Tuesday -- I'm Dr. Lauren Thibodeau http://www.drlauren.com and I'm on every Tuesday with Laura Smith on Above & Beyond. If you didn't catch it, or want to listen again check this out in podcasts http://www.lime.com/radio/above_and_beyond_with_laura_smith/podcast Just scroll down to the one titled Using Your Intuition with Psychic Medium Dr. Lauren.
I'm excited because I'm so passionate about demystifying these things, keeping them easy to apply in daily life, finding fairly immediate feedback loops so you can see yourself develop in this area. It's all about the Gift: not a psychic or intuitive gift either--those are the side benefits of living with a focused awareness, a stronger sense of yourself...and your Self (higher self, expanded consciousness, soul essence, whatever term you like to use it's that outside-of-human-body self). As much as I love working with callers and clients, in the end my goal is to empower YOU so you don't need us modern day mystics, urban shamans, psychic mediums, intuitive consultants...whatever is the term in vogue at the moment.
I'm so thrilled, really to see this being tested out (I see a few comments about the podcast, too). Thank you for "walking the talk." Do keep posting on your adventures, successes and frustrations. And don't forget to call on a Tuesday to say "Hi!" to Laura Smith and me.
Best & blessings,

Ok had to share this one. We were coming home from eating dinner the other evening. As we turned on our street and started around a blind curve to the right I suddenly had the urge to stop the truck so I did. Right after I stopped a 3 year old boy ran right out in front us from behind a parked truck chasing a ball. He was right where I would have been 2 seconds later.
This intuition thing can be a timesaver or a lifesaver. Listen to that voice whether it's little or sounds like a drill seargent!!!

A few year back, I had a similar experience. We were driving to a family Thanksgiving get-together on a four-lane highway. I got what I can only explain as a "feeling of dread". I hesitated about telling my husband, because he's been skeptical in the past. The feeling didn't go away, so I decided to tell him..."I know I've told you things like this in the past after-the-fact and you gave me that questioning look, so I'm just telling you now...I have a bad feeling. I don't know what it means, but just be careful." Not two minutes later we drove around a curve, blocked by bushes, and smack dab in the middle of our lane was a stalled car. My husband quickly swerved our vehicle and brought us over to stop on the side of the highway. At once, my feeling of dread passed."Whew, I feel better now," I said. He just stared at me white-faced and shaking. Trust your intuition.
