Women Opt for Mars Bars, Men Prefer Pizzas

Breaking news: men and women desire different things. Who knew?

Researchers from McGill University in Canada have published a study showing that when it comes to comfort food, women seek sweet and fatty consolation while men reward themselves with steaks, pastas, and pizzas.

Women know sugary, high fat food is bad for us, yet we keep coming back for more, and now we know why; according to the study, foods high in sugar and fat are more efficient at alleviating negative feelings.

But does a ménage a trois with Ben and Jerry really make us feel any better? As sweet as that whole pint of New York Super Fudge Chunk was going down, we hate ourselves for it in the morning.

Men, meanwhile, supposedly turn to food when they’re feeling good; tucking into a plate of pasta apparently makes them feel even better.

So we can’t even agree on what constitutes comfort food. Maybe we could hash it out over a piece of pie? I could go for a slice of the Little Pie Company’s Mississipi mud pie. But I’ll bet Matt would rather have a curried lamb pie from Myer’s of Keswick.

magnesium

you know besides being high in anti-oxidants, chocolate is high in magnesium. . . which is one of those essential minerals for all sorts of synaptic activity. along w/calcium, it has a very calming effect on the nerves. perhaps another reason why women, juggling careers, families, and ridiculous expectations to do it all and look perfect, find chocoalate bars so alluring.

I find true consolation in dark chocolate. Am I freak? Will the other boys make fun of me?

I Prefer Eggless

Caio Bella gelato. Yummy yummy & no eggs. And the dark chocolate sorbet is not only divine, it is vegan. As a woman juggler, it is clearly the deep dark secret to my success.
