The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in the hallways of some California high schools, where school cafeteria bans on junk food have created a black market for cookies and chips. Jennifer Obakhume, a senior at Inglewood High School in Los Angeles, reported on the trend for NPR’s Morning Edition yesterday.
So much for Governor Schwarzenegger’s vow to “terminate obesity in California once and for all.” Will the movie star martinet wage war against pubescent potato chip peddlers? Speaking of wars, how’s Arnold’s own battle of the bulge going, anyway?
Meanwhile, the junk food ban has sparked a debate about the so-called Nanny State. Why do nannies get a bad rap, anyway? Mary Poppins was pretty popular. But then, she knew the value of sugar coating things to make them more palatable.

there’s no health without rebellious unhealthy activity…
none of these are too terrible… we’re not meant to be total perfectionists.
Need an option to pick more than one of the choices!
Definately need to agree with jeansyoga- wanted to check more than one. And is this over the last week of lifetime? {Wink}
Hey guys, i c what you mean and i have to say it was also hard for me to choose one. but, these polls will always have 1 answer (technically, that’s what they are all about), that’s why we asked the question about “the most” unhealthy thing.
i know its not easy to pick up “the most” unhealthy thing (as i did at least 4 of them) – so for this week i picked the answer with the alcohol (it was a week of celebrations for me…).
BTW, jeansyoga – i saw your profile @LIME and it’s great. why dont you log-in before you comment – that way other users can c your profile and in the future comment on it too…
