The American Medical Association said on Wednesday it wants fast-food and chain restaurants to add nutritional information to menus and menu boards as part of an effort to combat obesity in the United States.
I sincerely support this idea, a few days ago there was a post about food markets doing something similar by posting banners directing people to healthy foods. I do agree that while most know which foods are healthy and which ones are not, we still make bad choices mainly because we are, unfortunately, led by our taste buds. But supposing that nutritional facts are in fact displayed in menus, next time you're about to order those fries there's a greater chance that the realization of how unhealthy they are will dawn on you before you order them. It'll just be a constant reminder to those who have a better grasp of what healthy eating is, and it will educate those who are not informed.
I think it should be enforced it would make a difference in choice. I know that I have asked before for there nutrition fact menus and a few times they were not available. But I think all food should be labeled with its nutrition values.
