Tough one.

Coming from a mixed ancestry of Korean and Mexican I've always been encouraged to include a lot of spices in my cooking. & although I love seasoning my meals with salt, I just can't do it anymore, considering that there's a great deal of high blood pressure history in my family. But we can still reduce salt in our diets and enjoy rich and tasty meals. I personally love using chilli peppers, which contain antioxidants and are good for fighting diseases, and basil or garlic, which happen to assist in fighting bugs in our bodies.

Additionally I try to avoid processed foods, since they are high in salt. In the end it's not that hard, if we just spice up our cooking with other spices and herbs that can provide great results in dishes as well as our health.

spicing things up

I think we both agree that using herbs is the way to go.  We are accustomed to the taste of salt by the food we grew up on.  You really have to experiment with different spices to find the ones you like.  I also use hot pepper flakes and chili pepper to add some heat.  It also speeds up your metabolism which is a good thing if you are trying to loose weight.
