Natural Remedies for ECZEMA

Calendula, commonly known as "pot marigold," has long been used as a folk remedy, and has astringent, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. Find a skin lotion or salve that contains calendula or, you can steep fresh calendula flowers in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes, then apply the flowers directly to the skin.

Evening primrose oil is an essential fatty acid with excellent anti-inflammatory properties. Many health care practitioners believe that one of the main causes of eczema is an amino deficiency that can be balanced by the essential fatty acids found in evening primrose oil. Buy evening primrose oil by itself, or blended with other sources of essential fatty acids such as borage oil and flaxseed oil. Mix one to two tablespoons of the oil with unsweetened fruit juice or plain yogurt, and take every day.
